For more than a decade, the International Family Medicine Conference and Exhibition-IFM has reflected my deep belief in the power of primary care to shape healthier societies, through long-term care, informed prevention, and community resilience, where family medicine is where trust begins, continuity of care is built, and healthcare truly meets people’s lives.
In our region, family medicine has grown steadily in both importance and influence, supported by national health visions, expanding healthcare infrastructure, and a shared commitment to stronger community-based care. Throughout this journey, IFM Conference and Exhibition has served as a meeting point for the region’s family medicine community, welcoming leading doctors, policymakers, educators, and internationally recognized experts who have contributed to raising standards, exchanging knowledge, and shaping the direction of primary care.
IFM 2026 represents a defining moment in this journey. The co-location of IFM with DUPHAT 2026 is a deliberate step toward reflecting how healthcare truly functions today: connected, collaborative, and patient centered. By bringing family medicine into direct dialogue with pharmacy, therapeutics, diagnostics, and healthcare innovation, this edition creates a more complete picture of care, strengthens cross-disciplinary understanding, and enhances the relevance and depth of the experience for every participant.
I must say that this year’s program has been carefully designed to address the priorities that family physicians face today, combining scientific depth with practical relevance across key areas of care, policy, and innovation. It reinforces IFM’s purpose as a platform that supports physicians not only in clinical excellence, but in leadership, collaboration, and system-wide impact.
As we gather once again in Dubai, IFM 2026 stands as a reflection of what the family medicine community has achieved together, and what it continues to build for the future of healthcare in the region and beyond.
